Overview
Our commitment to preserving the spirit of the J. Thibouville-Lamy legacy has seen us embark on a journey of re-creation. Introducing the J.T.L Guarnerius 4/4 Violin.
Meticulously handcrafted by master luthiers, the J.T.L Guarnerius Violons de Maître draws inspiration from the bold character and expressive power of Guarneri “del Gesù’s” famed 18th-century violins. Crafted from select European spruce and one-piece maple aged for over six years, each instrument blends traditional craftsmanship with exceptional tonal depth and projection.
The finely carved spruce top and solid maple back embody the darker, more dramatic aesthetic typical of Guarnerius models, enhanced by a hand-applied oil varnish that reveals a rich reddish-brown hue and subtle natural flame. With fuller arching and a slightly broader body, the design delivers a commanding presence and a resonant, complex voice.
Sound character: Deep, powerful, and expressive - with a rich lower register, strong projection, and the tonal complexity that rewards dynamic, emotive playing.
