Vandoren are pleased to announce the UK release of VK Synthetic Reeds for Tenor Saxophone, the global leader in reeds, mouthpieces, and woodwind accessories.
Following the successful introduction of VK Synthetic Reeds for Alto Saxophone and Bb Clarinet, the Tenor Saxophone range now welcomes two new additions: VK1 and VK7 synthetic reeds. These new models offer tenor saxophonists a premium alternative to traditional cane reeds, combining exceptional tonal quality with long-lasting reliability.
Crafted using a patented composite material developed exclusively by Vandoren, VK reeds offer consistent performance across a wide range of playing environments. Whether facing shifts in temperature, humidity, or extended practices, these reeds maintain a rich, centred tone and dependable response—ideal for both professional and advancing players.
The VK1 reed offers a traditional cut, delivering easy playability and a warm, expressive tone. Meanwhile, the VK7—designed with jazz players in mind—provides greater flexibility, projection, and dynamic response, making it a powerful choice for high-energy performances.
Developed, tested, and produced entirely in Vandoren’s Bormes-les-Mimosas facility in Southern France, VK reeds are hypoallergenic, fully recyclable, and compliant with EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, Annex II – Part III.
