The B40 HD retains the much-loved qualities that have made the B40 a benchmark model for clarinettists across generations — a rich, compact and centred sound with excellent balance and ease of response — now enhanced by the exceptional acoustic properties of HD ebonite.
Developed exclusively by Vandoren after years of research and innovation, HD (High Density) ebonite is a premium musical-grade material designed to optimise projection, resonance and responsiveness. Its increased density reinforces the natural warmth and tonal depth of traditional ebonite, while offering enhanced clarity and stability in all performance environments.

The B40 HD features the same facing as the B45, combined with a wider tip rail, contributing to its compact and focused tonal profile.
