Success at Cremona MondoMusica 2024
Hidersine Orchestral, W. E. Hill & Sons Lutherie Products, and J. Thibouville-Lamy have been showcasing their products at the Cremona MondoMusica String Show this week. Held in Cremona, Italy, famous for legendary violin makers like Antonio Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù, the event celebrates the city’s rich heritage in violin making. The Cremona Musica String Show serves as a global meeting point for luthiers, musicians, collectors, and enthusiasts alike, who come to celebrate and advance the tradition of fine instrument-making.
The three brands have connected with players from around the world, presenting their range of rosins, instruments, bows, and lutherie products.
Hidersine
Hidersine displayed their full range of rosins, and a selection of instruments and accessories from their catalogue, featuring the Hidersine Vivente Academy violin with Wittner Finetune pegs. The Hidersine Andante strings for violin, viola, and cello made their first appearance in Italy, where teachers found them to be an excellent choice for their students
Expanding the reach of the newly released Hidersine // ESTA UK Violin Technique videos, people were able to view the videos throughout the show, with links through to the full set being made available to take away with them.
W. E. Hill & Sons
Featuring the full range of W. E. Hill & Sons Lutherie Products at the show, string players were intrigued by the Premium Rosin for violin, viola, cello and double bass. The W. E. Hill & Sons Conservation Wax, noted for its use of microcrystalline waxes and citrus oils, was hugely popular amongst luthiers, restorers and players alike, joining the much loved W. E. Hill Varnish Cleaner.
J. Thibouville-Lamy
J. Thibouville-Lamy presented their full range of bows for violin, viola and cello. Attendees also took the opportunity to test-play the J. Thibouville Lamy 'Barnabetti' violin. A faithful reissue of timeless master craftsmanship, with exquisite attention to detail. A beautiful master-built instrument honouring its stunning predecessor originally built in 1910 in JTL’s workshops in Mirecourt - the birthplace of French violin making.
The J. Thibouville-Lamy Barnabetti violin is available to buy from select and specialist bowed instrument stores in the UK and internationally.
